Hello! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Houston, Texas and currently live in Houston, TX but most of my career has been in Austin, TX.
I have a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where I focused on digital art and photography. I think my background is what makes me extra special because not only do I know how to use the Adobe Suite. I am well versed in traditional mediums like painting, illustration, sculpture and performance art.
Who else do you know who has starred in a performance art video about the amount of trash we consume on a weekly basis? Well now you know one! It is a pleasure to meet you.
I am a self-starter. I had to be. My first job was working for a tech start up, they only had 3 fulltime employees. The company was called GroupThreads and I created the standard operating procedure for all graphic designers. Within a year, I was the Design Manager and managed 2 fulltime graphic designers and 6 contract graphic designers. I had never managed anything in my life, but I grew to the task in front of me with the help of the CTO and COO.
The one thing I can do best in the world is try. I know if I try, I can achieve anything.
That really highlights my career.
The two other jobs I’ve had was at Brown Distributing and Event Rental Systems.
Brown Distributing is a beer distribution company that mainly distributes Anheuser-Busch and craft beers. I have worked with most Anheuser-Busch brands including Karbach to National Craft brands like New Belgium to local Texas craft like Pinthouse Pizza. I worked in the sign shop, long hours, as a graphic designer.
The other job is Event Rental Systems where I worked as a graphic designer for websites. I worked with bounce house and dumpster companies to create beautiful graphics for their website. I am the ultimate team player. I learned CSS/HTML to help the web developers as they were backed up with other work and took on more on my plate to make the process more smooth.
